Justice for all rape victims

Respected PM,
I know social media makes communication and reaching out to you easier but at the same time there are lot of people and important issues to listen to. Still I am writing with a hope that it would reach you one day. I for a fact know that you and your government have no tolerance policy in case of rape. These days there has been a lot of disappointment in the country. The recent events have shook the country and people are acting out. As usual blaming the government, for not acting/answering, not realising that this is a legal issue and there are laws that needs to be changed/amended. As a citizen of this country who is shattered by the recent events. I would just request this government to play their part in passing a bill to amend the IPC(Indian penal code) in such cases, because the punishment for such Henious crime should be stringent. There are many countries who have strict laws for rape cases, why not take a page from their books. I know sir that there is a procedure and it takes time. But this is necessary at this day and hour to change these laws. People will feel justice is delivered only when they see some action taken. Just condemning the incidence and talking about zero tolerance is not going to help. We as a country have had enough of this inhumanity.  This is my honest opinion, straight from heart. If u fell that this change is necessary please work on it. Take the extra effort the prior governments couldn't. Please sir it's the need of the hour. Corporal punishment or equivalent punishment for rapists. A humble and honest request.
Yours sincerely,
Swati Iyer

Lockdown Diary 3.0- A normalising phase

Diary 3.0 : A normalising phase Day 41 (4th May 2020) Monday 6:15 AM Although I am following my lockdown routine. The 3.0 phase is going to be different. Government has removed many restrictions.(as it is people were not listening 🤷🙄 they might as well go to work.)  ( Source- Social news.xyz) Now what? This question remains. Maybe the government has left it on us to take our own decisions. The police force is brutally tired. They tried beating up people, pleading them, punishing them(squats, yoga etc) morally shaming people.(Clapping and felicitating people who were out for no reason), making them dance. In this process some of the police force got beaten up, killed, spitted on, bullied and threatened by some politicians and infected with coronavirus for doing their job.  Therefore, the government has changed it's parenting technique. Remove certain restrictions and observe the results. That's the only choice they had. The new parenting technique is borrow...

Lockdown Diary 4 : A confusing phase

Diary 4: A confusing phase. Day 55 (18th May 2020) Monday. One might wonder why am I calling it a confused phase. Just have a look at the blueprint of lockdown 4 first. It's been extended till 31st May 2020. It is confused phase because they have opened market places. While people still struggle to understand the meaning of social distancing. 🤷🙄 Any sane person will still avoid visiting crowded places when corona scare still lurks and people who will go out are already going out since day one. (The most untamed animals of the animal kingdom.😤) This feels like opening the liquor shops situation all over again. Let's wait for these changes to show colors. Lockdown 4 is going to be an interesting diary I suspect.  Stay tuned. 10:40 Finally this lockdown has some music in store. The speaker system that was in the upstairs has been bought down to the living room and I began with listening to a legend Kishore Kumar.  (Pic source- Jio saavan) ...

Once I was so little

Once I was so little, I cherished little things in life; running on a empty road, in the night, Jumping on dry leaves, only to hear it's crunching noise, To hear myself echo, I yelled at the top of my voice, I loved to see the stars and moon, that shined oh so bright! Once I was so little, Innocence was my name; I thought I could count, tiny droplets of rain, I wondered where the sun would go and hide in the night, The best day used to be when we saw trains,  repeatedly turning on & off, gave disco effect to the lights. Once I was so little, I was Silly as charged; I used to love summers because of popsicles and ice-creams , I consoled myself in second person when I had a fall, Seeing a lizard anywhere, called for a scream.(It still does) I used to roam around with a pink Barbie doll. Height of silliness, here's one extra dose, I danced around my dog, till it bit me on my nose. Those were the days of happiness, innocence and silliness. Though, we have ou...
